On a phone or classroom display, the full-screen version gives the notation and controls more room.
Make practice fit your lesson
- Choose a skill. Start with notes, intervals, key signatures, scales or chords.
- Customize the session. Select treble or bass clef, a foundation or extended question set, and 10, 20 or 30 questions. Other options depend on the activity.
- Read, listen and answer. Press Play to hear the displayed music. Your first answer counts toward the session score; each response includes feedback.
- Keep the setup. Use Copy setup link to reopen the same settings or share them with a colleague. It shares settings, not scores or the same sequence of questions.
Five ways to build music literacy
- Notes: identify pitches in treble or bass clef, with staff-only or ledger-line practice and optional accidentals.
- Intervals: identify the distance and quality between two written pitches.
- Key signatures: connect written signatures with major or minor keys.
- Scales: recognize the type of a written scale.
- Chords: identify triad qualities from notation.
Sound that stays under your control
Play the notation with a warm piano-like tone. Use Volume and Mute to suit your room. Answer sounds adds a short positive cue for a correct answer and a gentle try-again cue for an incorrect one; switch it off whenever you prefer quiet practice. If sound does not begin on a phone, tap Play and check your device volume.
Use it for practice, not a secure test
Try a ten-question warm-up, a short independent station or a projected class discussion. Ask students to explain how they recognized a note, interval or chord before revealing the answer. The studio offers immediate feedback, replay and text alternatives, so scores are practice feedback rather than verified assessment records.
No student names or accounts are required. The studio has no gradebook or score collection: session scores stay in the current browser tab and clear on reload. For website-wide information, see our Privacy Policy.
