Rhythm Worksheet Generator

Create printable rhythm practice for your students. Choose how many exercises to include and how many measures each exercise contains. Select 3/4 or 4/4 and the note and rest patterns students are learning, and download matching color or black-and-white worksheets with counting keys. No account required.

Make the practice fit your class

• Start with quarter notes and quarter rests, then add eighth-note pairs or longer values as students become ready.
• Select a measure in the preview to replace just that measure. Undo restores the previous rhythms without losing your title or header text.
• Use the counting key to discuss attacks, held sounds and rests. The key explains its symbols; adapt spoken counting to your classroom convention.
• Select Edit answer key to customize a measure’s count labels. Keep one space-separated label per count position; use _ for a blank. Teacher-edited answers appear in both PDF versions and are not automatically verified. Reset one measure or all measures to the generated key at any time.

Before printing: Review the generated worksheet and key. PDF downloads include the key by default; uncheck that option to export student pages only. Both color versions keep the same rhythms. Version labels appear only in the controls and file names, not on printed pages.

What this generator supports

This first version uses one-line rhythm notation in 3/4 and 4/4, with 1–8 exercises and 1, 2, 4, or 8 measures per exercise (32 total measures maximum). Exercises stay together, with up to four two-measure notation rows per page; page count depends on your grouping. It supports US Letter and A4. Ties, triplets, compound meter and audio playback are not included. Selecting a pattern makes it available but does not guarantee it appears.

Privacy: The generator processes worksheet text within your browser; it does not upload names or save worksheet projects. Download your work before refreshing or leaving the page. PDF exports are image-based and are not tagged for screen readers.
